Founded by a group of outstanding tele-ophthalmology specialists in the Asia-Pacific region in May 2016, the Asia Pacific Tele-Ophthalmology Society (APTOS) aims to bring together clinicians, researchers, technicians, institutes and organizations to form an alliance that promotes communication, exchange and collaboration in tele-ophthalmology. It provides a platform on which eye care or tele-medical professionals can share knowledge and collaborate to deliver efficient, accessible and quality universal eye care throughout the region. Through its annual symposium, APTOS brings together like minds for lively discussions about how to apply technological advances in tele-ophthalmology.
While APTOS 2026 in Shanghai, held from 5–6 June 2026, has come to a close, access to presentations made at APTOS annual symposiums and other educational resources remains a privilege of APTOS members.
